We are John and Rochelle Ward. Our Testimony starts with being very young, and newly married..
and almost forced by God to be mentored by my grandparents, when our circumstances moved us in with them not long after we were married. They poured so much into us at that time, if we had not lived there with them we would not have had that experience of seeing their healthy and loyal marriage walked out on a daily basis. Witnessing that daily walk turned out to be one of the biggest blessings God has given to our marriage.
Being mentored early in a marriage by a strong Christian couple is huge! More couples that have years together need to be willing to take couples who are just getting started under their wing. The world paints a 'happily ever after' picture of marriage but the reality is once you start to blend your lives together and show your true selves to each other sometimes it doesn't go so well. But it's not a time to give up. It can't be treated that lightly. It's important to remember that love is not a feeling... it's a choice, it's a daily decision. That puts the responsibility of 'staying' on you not your spouse when things get hard in life.
