It Is Finished: Believing You Are Who God Says You Are

Aug 30, 2026    Randy Blan

What if the weight we have been carrying as believers is one we were never meant to bear? This message cuts straight to the heart of one of the most common yet unexamined habits in the Christian life: the cycle of asking God again and again to forgive sins that Jesus already paid for in full. Drawing from the powerful argument laid out across Hebrews chapters 9 and 10, we are confronted with a stunning contrast between the old covenant sacrificial system and the finished work of Christ. Under the old covenant, priests stood daily offering sacrifices that could never permanently remove sin. But Jesus, after offering one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down. That posture of sitting is not incidental. It is the posture of completed work. The writer of Hebrews uses the phrase 'once for all' eleven times, and in Hebrews 10:14 delivers what may be one of the most radical declarations in all of Scripture, that by one offering we have been perfected forever. This message challenges us to ask an honest and uncomfortable question: do we truly believe the Lamb of God was enough? Not just enough to get us started, but enough to define us completely and permanently as forgiven, justified, and accepted children of God?
